HOW MUCH DO MUSIC ARTISTS EARN ONLINE?

May 7th, 2010

Recently, the UK government passed The Digital Economy Act which included many, perhaps draconian, measures to combat online music piracy (including withdrawing broadband access for persistent pirates).

Much was proclaimed about how these new laws would protect musicians and artists revenue and livelihoods.

But how much money do musicians really get paid in this new digital marketplace?

MUSIC IS CHANGING AGAIN WITH WOTZER.COM

November 16th, 2009

–New Social Network Launches a Better Way to Buy, Share and Sell Music–

(December 2, 2009) Los Angeles – The earth is about to move beneath the social network landscape with the launch of Wotzer.com, a groundbreaking music community model that introduces a distinctive merger between social network and music sharing platforms.  Driven by the universal power of sharing, Wotzer is the first networking service uniquely designed to give its community of users 100% of ad generated revenue from their own personal pages to purchase music on the site.

“Wotzer is a social network that completely belongs to the music,” states Massimo Cipicchia, president and owner of Internet company Bluevents and creator of Wotzer.com.  “Our goal with Wotzer is to let music lovers get more involved in a social network via the ability to communally spend revenue generated on the site, within the site itself.”

The sustainable economic model of Wotzer redefines the relationship between members, music and advertisers.  Ads displayed on Wotzer.com personal profile, content and activity pages provide real monetary credits to Wotzer members who in turn can purchase music from musicians’ profile pages and Wotzer’s music store at no additional cost to the members.  The result is a social network where musicians can profitably sell music and promote events like never before thanks to fans, friends and advertisers.  “Wotzer could be the best answer to illegal downloads of digital music,” anticipates Cipicchia.  “With Wotzer, it’s a true sense of community.”  The network expects to generate millions of dollars to be spent by users in legal music downloads and other items.

Wotzer will also push the discovery of new talent and music with its innovative symbiotic design.  Musicians and bands will benefit from the availability of funds accessible only for the purpose of downloading their music.

Features of Wotzer will include personal profiles and public homepages for bands and members, personalized playlists, comment boards, a chat room, shared music, video streaming and community updates.  Wotzer will also integrate a variety of international social networks within itself to allow its community to globally share from one unified platform.

In addition to its progressive model of sharing music online, Wotzer will forge new ground in the structure of its corporation.  According to Cipicchia, a unique online corporate framework is currently in development for Wotzer that would allow its members to become shareholders in the company, giving even greater meaning and benefit to participating in the Wotzer community in the future.

Wotzer.com is scheduled to premiere the beginning of 2010.
